The opening night line-up was announced at Beerfest which was held at the McIntyre Curling Club Saturday.

Beerfest is the Timmins Festival and Events Committee’s biggest annual fundraiser for Rock on the River.

John Olaveson, chair of TFEC, said they hoped within the coming weeks to announce the line-up of bands performing on the second night of the two-day music festival. On Saturday, he said the committee was still those details.

In the meantime, Olaveson was elated about the prospect of the Beerfest selling out. It is the TFEC’s biggest fundraiser of the year with proceeds going towards the music festival.

The event typically generates between $30,000 and $40,000 in revenues.

“Right now we have 720 tickets sold and our capacity is 800.”
